United Christian Church Caracas
The United Christian Church [UCC] had its origin from a small group of English-speaking residents in Caracas who longed for the type of worship which they had known in their homelands.
Our church has been a place of worship for the English speaking community since 1940 when those families started meeting to worship and then, with the help of the local Presbyterian Mission, our interdenominational church was established.
All who share a faith in Jesus Christ and who wish to have a part in realizing a human order based upon truth and righteousness are invited to join with us. Our desire is to encourage one another in spiritual growth in order that together we may be lifted to an authentic understanding of our role as Christians in the world, helped to enhance the effectiveness of our service, and challenged to new levels of excellence in our personal lives.
Today UCC provides a spiritual home for an English-speaking congregation from many countries as well as Venezuela. Besides weekly services, the Church offers Sunday school for children of all ages, adult education, small fellowship and prayer groups and opportunities for local mission work. Like most international churches, it is a vibrant community that blends the many cultures, backgrounds and religious traditions of its ever-changing congregation. The Church consciously offers a mix of worship styles - both traditional (with a robed choir) and more modern (with a praise band), combined in the Sunday morning service. It is not surprising, therefore, that many who move on after their time in Venezuela has ended comment how UCC has been the best part of their stay in Venezuela.
